The first time I met Danielle… I’ll remember it all my life. I felt something special. Something different. Sweet and firm, funny and concentrated on you. She was following me step by step. No pressure, just be sure you’re doing in the right way, at your level. Surprising. I understood her words, her explanations, the way she was correcting my body and my breathing. She was teaching me and protecting me at the same time. I felt a kind of a love bubble where I just have to let everything go and allow Danielle taking care of me. By the… Read more “Marie Filliette”
When I first met Danielle, it was quite interesting because she seemed so cool calm and collected. She had just experienced her car being broken into and yet she was still so down to earth. I appreciated her for staying relaxed through a very difficult situation and began to ask her more about what she does. She explained to me very briefly that yoga helps keep her grounded. She just had a beautiful spirit and I wanted whatever it was that she had. So, I started practicing yoga kind of secretively because I wanted to see if it really does… Read more “Cinnamon Denise”

Danielle taught exceptional hatha yoga segments during my Que Pasana, silent meditation workshops on Maui. Her classes support students with mixed level instructions, accommodating beginners and seasoned students superbly. She holds space for the sensitivity of the silent retreat, respecting and accommodating the participants during a powerfully inward experience. Participants are guided towards a deep connection to their roots in the Earth while simultaneously working skywards in asana. This Heaven and Earth approach provides a practical ground for deep meditators to anchor to.

I have known Danielle since September 2008, when I started taking yoga classes with her at the Richmond Village Beacon Community Center in San Francisco, California. These classes were offered free of charge to the community by this nonprofit organization. Danielle’s class was not the first yoga class I had taken (I have been taking yoga classes sporadically since 1996), but she is by far my favorite yoga teacher and, under her tutelage, I practiced yoga more consistently than I ever have at any time in my life. While I was her student, I became pregnant, at age 40, with… Read more “Dr. Karen Chow”
I’ve been taking one-on-one sessions with Danielle since 2004. Having a personal yoga coach motivated me to stay with the practice and helped me see the effects of yoga on my body over time. Because I used to be someone in the “flexibility challenged” category, yoga seemed out of reach. Danielle uses yoga tools and props during the session that make the postures more accessible. Private lessons are the way to go because she is able to tailor the postures and sequencing to my specific needs and make it fun.
